Just enter IDOCEANSIDE1.BLOGSPOT.COM on the “GO” line of your
browser for the latest information on the building, the Board minutes, the WAVE
newsletter, etc. In an emergency such as a storm it could be of especially
important help. Every homeowner with Internet access should access this site
periodically regardless of their location. For example, updates regarding last
summer’s Hurricane Irene (non)impact were reassuring as most of us were not
here when the storm came through.

OCEANSIDE I BOARD AND MANAGEMENT NEWS

THE
OWNERS GENERAL MEETING

At
the owners meeting on January 18, Board President Mike Monin presented the
annual president’s update. The full
report is on the Blog. In summary,

It is with genuine pleasure that I can say
that for Island Dunes Oceanside I, 2011 was a relatively uneventful year”.
Without a doubt, the greatest thanks must go the Good Lord for keeping the wind
below 90 and the sea out of our Social Room.
Some activities were of special note during the year:

We fought our way through the new contract
negotiations with Comcast in late 2010 and the installation of the new service
and e4quipment early in 2011. In
general, the equipment seems to be working quite well.

The building was painted by the J & B Painting
Company who worked efficiently and well. The building looks good and the old
caulking has been replaced with an effective sealant.

We have continued our rebar work to attempt
to forestall the need for the extensive exterior concrete terrace work you’ve
seen on several building to our south.
Those projects have cost owners in some of the affected buildings in
excess of $25,000 per unit and have interrupted full building use for months.
